What’s in a Name?

In stage rallying, a form of motorsport, teams with one driver and one navigator work together to travel a course on public or private roads as quickly as possible. As the driver races along the roads the navigator reads a set of paces notes, a shorthand description of the route. Thanks to the pace notes the driver can anticipate what’s coming, negotiating corners and jumps with no surprises.

In the pace notes, corners are assigned a value from 1 to 6 to describe their severity; 1 represents a hairpin, and 6 almost a straightaway. When a driver hears “Right 6” they know to expect a slight right hand bend in the road that they can confidently take at full speed.

For many years Josh, the company’s founder, was a rally driver, participating in races throughout western Canada. When he founded the company he wanted a name that had personal significance, but also said something about company. Right Six is a company that operates with confidence, values efficiency, and helps clients navigate through their foundation engineering and pile testing work with no surprises–full speed ahead!
